By the end of September, four Qatari startups will pack their suitcases, hop on a plane, and join this year’s cohort of the 5th edition of MITEF Pan Arab’s Silicon Valley Program!

The program has proven to be an eye-opening experience for all participating startups; especially as they get to meet with investors, fellow entrepreneurs, and media. The opportunities are endless.

The Qatari cohort is supported in partnership with Qatar Development Bank (QDB), an integrated bank aimed at improving the economic development cycle by providing Qatari entrepreneurs and SMEs with a range of financial and advisory products under one roof. QDB’s strategy is to empower a diversified private sector in Qatar, in an effort to create a knowledge-based integrated economy that is driven by the innovations of Qatari entrepreneurs and SMEs.

Now, we introduce you to the 4 Qatari startups who will be taking part in this once-in-a-lifetime journey:

Droobi (Healthtech): Droobi Health designs bilingual (Arabic & English) digital health therapeutic solutions to prevent and manage chronic diseases that are prevalent in the MENA region. The platform particularly focuses on conditions that rely on long-term behavioral modifications such as diabetes and obesity.

Qchain (Cybersecurity): Qchain provides an easy-to-deploy compliance solution in alignment with several cybersecurity regulations in Qatar and international standards, called ‘Qlog’, and compliance in other areas with their tailor-made blockchain solutions.

Servesni (Digital tech): Servesni connects car owners with car mechanics, based on the time and place determined by the user. The solution helps improve quality of life by saving time and money, creating less traffic, and keeping track of the car’s service log in a streamlined manner.

Subol (IoT): Subol is a startup that develops a wide array of IoT enabled ‘smart gas sensor’ devices that detect, measure, and gauge levels of gas at homes and restaurants. The devices are complemented with a mobile application ‘Samam’ which enables users to control their devices remotely.

The teams will be joined by other cohorts from other MENA countries, who will be visiting some of the world’s biggest tech companies that are based in the valley area. The tours will include in-depth discussions with C-level executives, providing an insider look to how these tech giants operate and scale-up.

We would also like to thank TechWadi for helping us put this year’s program together, by facilitating introductions and creating lanes of cooperation.

MITEF Pan Arab will be covering the teams’ journey on social media as they exhibit their startups during Techcrunch Disrupt SF, and visit some of the biggest companies in the world.

Stay tuned for future announcements and updates #SVP2019 #MITEFArab
