Arab Startup Competition semifinalists compete, digitally

Not even a pandemic could stop us! We never would have imagined we would be celebrating such an achievement this year, yet here we are.

We are very excited that after postponing our conference and awards ceremony which was planned to take place in Abu Dhabi in April, we are now set to take our flagship event digital. Now, anyone from around the world could join the discussion and be part of our annual celebration of technology startups and innovation.

Join us on June 24 at 3 PM (Beirut time) to announce the 6 winners of the 13th edition of MITEF Arab Startup Competition, and to celebrate the resiliency that all founders have shown.

This year’s virtual edition of the conference and awards ceremony would not have been possible without the continuous support from our partners at Community Jameel, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) (Innovation Partner), Zain Telecom (Digital Partner), and Flat6Labs (Acceleration Partner).

This year’s semifinalists (previously announced in a blog post) will be receiving an intensive remote training program that is designed and executed by the team at KAUST. The training program, set between June 2-11, will prepare the semifinalists to face the judges remotely and to answer questions related to operating in a post-COVID-19 world.

Also, the online conference will feature a number of keynote speeches and a discussion panel. Founders around the world have had to adapt to changing market conditions, investors backing out of deals, and users limiting their spending. In this discussion panel, we will bring 3 founders at different growth stages, to share how they managed the crisis and what advice do they have for the viewers.

Knowing it’s an all-digital conference, we promise to emulate a live-event experience where attendees will be able to network with like-minded individuals and take part in the discussions on ‘stage’.
